Out and About

Few things are more important to me than family, friends, and my community. Dave Matthews Band concerts are one of them that rank right up there. I've been to over 50 Dave concerts in my lifetime, and I’m still counting. The friendships made and that endure are a true highlight of my life.

    Meet Steve

    Steve Morris is dedicated to serving Woodbury. With two terms on the City Council, he actively works to enhance our community. Raised in North St. Paul and working or living in Woodbury for 25+ years, Steve is passionate about community service and volunteering with local organizations. He and his husband Justin enjoy exploring Woodbury's parks and trails with their dog, Reggie.

    Community Focus

    Steve Morris champions local governance. He emphasizes the importance of community-driven decisions—focusing on People, Potholes, Parks, Police, and Paramedics—to keep Woodbury thriving. He advocates for local control and efficient government collaboration.

    Work & Community

    Steve's career spans retail management and entrepreneurship. His hands-on experience with community-focused businesses keeps him connected to the everyday lives of residents.

    Steve's Background

    Volunteer

    A long list of passions, including support for children, families, military families, political de-escalation, and others. Steve's support for non-profit organizations is hands-on, as he prefers to lend his time and passion to organizations to make a community better. Organizations such as:

    Career

    Steve's career has been entirely in the retail industry.  From his part-time job in high school, through the business he owns today, a passion for making a big difference by a little retailer (small corner convenience store or gas station, or specialty retailer) is what gets Steve up in the morning.  His roles have included:

    • Merchandising Director
    • Marketing Director
    • Sales Strategy & Planning Director
    • Vice-President Operations
    • Owner / President - CEO

    Representing the community as an elected official means taking that opportunity to represent in other entities that play a role in advocating for communities. Steve has served on:

    • Met-Council Land Use Advisory Committee
    • Metro Cities board of directors
    • Metro Cities policy committees : General Government, Transportation, Housing.
