It would be a true honor to continue serving as your city councilmember.
As an at-large body, we don't represent just one district — we serve every corner of this community. If given the chance to continue, I promise to show up with the same transparency, grit, and passion I've always brought.

We're on our way with our permanent treatment facility, but we're not done. Ensuring Woodbury taxpayers don't end up with the operational burden for the long-term operation and maintenance of the system will take steadfast focus and making sure resources are made available to protect. I will ensure Woodbury stays a leader both locally and nationally in this pursuit, and that Woodbury taxpayers are represented with priority.

Local government is one of the few places left where it's not about politics, it's about people. Remaining focused on our roles, our responsibilities, and our mission, free of politics, partisan pushing, and headlines. I strongly oppose efforts to politicize local government. Remaining focused on our roles, our responsibilities, and our mission, free of politics, partisan pushing, and headlines. I strongly oppose efforts to politicize local government. We all call Woodbury home for our family or our business. Ensuring we keep focus and work towards maintaining and improving our quality-of-life weather through transportation access, parks & recreation programs & opportunities, or working on affordability, my focus will be on decisions that improve our quality of life. That means saying Yes, and importantly, saying No. My litmus test is simple: "Is it worth the time, money, and effort, and does it work towards improving our quality of life?"

Have you ever met someone who says they loves budgets? Well, I do. It's the single most important thing a city council does. Every priority, every program, everything we do starts with the budget. It's complex, and it's important. I have a track record of pushing back and asking hard questions on spending, and I promise to maintain my history of reviewing every line item & every department as my responsibility to the public. By listening to the community, inferring your priorities, and making educated decisions, I'll work towards a budget we can all be proud of.

As we work on the 2050 comprehensive plan, our community is not only growing but aging in our housing stock and infrastructure. We must balance those things to ensure we don't overburden our current residents and businesses with the costs of maintaining the infrastructure.
That also means we must have a clear understanding of our statutory requirements and rights as a city, and for our property owners. It's nuanced, but that doesn't mean it’s impossible. We will continue to chart a path forward for Woodbury that maintains the delicate balance of development and preservation.

Now more than ever, the state and federal governments are pushing to centralize decisions and power.
As the closest level of government to its constituents, the City Council is the most accessible level of government, and the one we interact with most daily.
That means, ensuring that decisions such as infrastructure, planning, zoning, & property taxes, just to name a few, are made by the people closest to the issue and to the responsibility for delivering those services.
We have and will continue to work hard to ensure citizens are allowed to make their voices heard, and decisions are able to be made at the most local levels.

The answer is simple: "No". Steve isn't affiliated with any political party. To him, a non-partisan office isn't just a label — it's a commitment, and he takes it seriously. It means respecting the position and the people enough to truly live out that principle.
He's backed that up with action, volunteering his time with non-partisan organizations that champion the values we share as people, as Americans, and as Minnesotans. He's cast votes for Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike — always for the person, their values, and their positions, never for the party.
Steve firmly opposes any effort to inject party politics into local government. While his door is open to any group, he won't seek or accept party endorsements.
"I respect the office, and I respect what a non-partisan position is meant to be. This isn't about winning a campaign — it's about doing right by Woodbury. No party has a lock on that." He adds, "The perks candidates get from endorsements or 'letters of support' — which, let's be honest, are the same thing — aren't worth pushing away even one Woodbury voter just because they see things differently. I've worked for every resident, every business owner, every visitor in this community, and I always will. I don't care what party they belong to — or if they belong to one at all."
Steve's view is straightforward. First: property owners have rights — when they decide to sell, it's their call, not City Hall's. Second: smart, planned growth spreads the tax burden. Sure, more homes mean more demand on services, but it's not a straight line from one new house to one new paramedic or fire station.
Steve supports the kind of orderly growth that's been Woodbury's signature for decades. But he's no dreamer — more people means more traffic and real challenges, and he'll be the first to say so. What sets him apart is his track record. He's spent time building relationships across city lines, collaborating with surrounding communities to tackle those shared headaches together.
Steve supports fundamental human and constitutional rights. Due process applies to everyone, regardless of immigration status, and no government agency has the right to violate it.
However, city government is not the place for enforcing immigration laws. Agencies like the DEA, ATF, FBI, and DHS should carry out their duties ethically and humanely — that's what keeps communities safe.
Steve opposes recent efforts to politicize city government and drag it into legally questionable territory at taxpayer expense. Individuals are free to speak out and challenge policies — but concerns about ICE enforcement should be directed at the agencies responsible, not City Hall.
Steve will continue defending the rights of everyone in Woodbury, regardless of citizenship, while supporting humane and lawful enforcement at the state and federal level.
